The Department of Growth and Environmental Management Permit and Compliance Services Division consists of Code Enforcement, Contractors Licensing, Permit Intake, and Fiscal Administration.  The division is the central intake point of building, and environmental permit applications, and code compliance complaints.   

The Permit and Compliance Services Division functions in several areas in a Department support role.  Some of those responsibilities include building operation and maintenance, Department IT coordination, budget coordination, and coordinating and responding to public records requests.

The Permit and Compliance Services Division also monitors Growth and Environmental Management’s general email address.  This email address (gem_info@leoncountyfl.gov) was established to allow the public the ability to send a request or question to GEM and get a response from the appropriate group within GEM.
